Charcoal is a solid fuel used for heating and cooking that is created through the process of carbonisation, which is a process where complex carbon substances—such as wood or other biomass—are broken down through a slow heating process into carbon. When Charcoal products are produced from biomass sources such as woody agricultural residue,  nut shells, etc.  it is sustainable charcoal and carbon neutral. Charcoal is produced by slow heating woody biomass in airtight ovens or retorts, in chambers with various gases, or in kilns supplied with limited and controlled amounts of air. 

Traditional methods of charcoal production cause immense damage to the environment can be life threatening to workers and contribute significantly to the deforestation of the Tropical rain forests, the lungs of the Earth
